1. Where in the world is the biome located (try and find an image that you can can copy and paste into your page)?
Deserts are mostly found in australia, south america, north america and much much other places.
but are mostly in egypt because egypt has a lot of sand and there towns are surrounded by sand and most deserts have very little water.
2. What is the climate like (what is the temperature and the weather)?
temperatures range from 20 to 25° C. The extreme maximum ranges from 43.5 to 49° C. Minimum temperatures sometimes drop to -18° C.
so the weather temperatures drop sometimes but mostly the temperature gets extremely hot and since it gets so hot the sand also gets really hot so when it rains the rain drops don't even hit the ground it just gets evaporated because the sand is so hot.
3. What different types of plants exist in this biome?
Barrel Cactus -the barrel cactus is one of the smallest cactuses but this cactus looks like small barrel
Brittle Bush -The brittlebushis a common plant of the Mojave and Sonoron deserts. It is a small deciduous shrub which grows as a low, roundish mound 2 to 5 feet high. Brittle branches sprout from a woody trunk.
Chainfruit Cholla -the chain fruit cholla looks as much like a tree in the desert as a cactus possibly can.
4. What different types of animals exist in this biome?
Armadillo Lizard - the armadillo lizard is a reptile that has many scales when it needs to protect it self it curls up into a ball like a armadillo.
Banded Gila Monster -The Banded Gila Monster is very shy but can strike back very quickly, with painful results. It is a subspecies of the Gila Monster (Heloderma spectum), and is one of two venomous types of lizard in the world.
Bobcat-the bobcat is a cat that lives in certain kinds of deserts and some times gets mixed up with the mountain lion
Coyote - a coyote is a cousin to the wolf and the wolf is cousin to the dog but the coyote is more sneeky then both animals because it feeds on the week and the half eaten dead
Desert Bighorn Sheep -Desert bighorn sheep is a subspecies of the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and eats plants and uses its horn to defend it self.
Desert Kangaroo Rat -The kangaroo rat is a very cute little critter that kind of looks like a mini kangaroo, but is as big as a mouse.
5. How is this biome threatened by humans?
Many types of human activities hurt the desert. Off roading is one of these activities. Many people drive their off road vehicles in unrestricted areas all over the desert. Their vehicles leave tracks on the soil, which will scar the land for decades. These tracks also kill off vegetation. When vegetation is harmed, so are the animals. When vegetation dwindles in population, in popular off roading areas, so does the animal population. Animals that hide in the sand can also be harmed. The sand viper, which hides so well in the soil, can become an accidental victim of off roading mayhem.
6. Give an example of a specific ecosystem that would be classified as this biome(i.e. Lake Ontario is specific ecosystem that is an example of a freshwater biome)
One of the most specific ecosystem that would be classified as this biome would be the sanguro national park which is at South Old Spanish Trail, Tucson, AZ, United States,
